Confederation Park Little League


Hello baseball families,

Community Park Little League still has openings for 13-16 year old players in the Junior/Senior division playing now on the northside for all city Little League players. Practices are on Sunday nights (for some teams) with games on Monday and Wednesday nights. Games and practices are held on the northside (Goldstick and Castledowns). There is room for a coach or two also, if you are available. Please email Tully Lutz (President of Community Park) if you are interested or have any questions:

Message from our President

Dear Confederation Park Families:)

 It is with a heavy heart that the Confederation Park Little League Board of Directors has voted to opt out of baseball operations until September 1, 2020. We were extremely excited to get off to a fresh start this year with a new board, new membership, and healthy registration. This decision did not come easy for the club, and has been heavily discussed and reviewed over the past few months.  Confederation Park has been in baseball for several decades, and will be for several more, but we will err on the side of caution for this season. 

For those who wish to pursue baseball opportunities outside of Confederation Park, but remain with Little League, you can do so by contacting our sister club, Community Park at (Tully and Ann will be glad to help you).

Confederation Park Board Member Vacancies

Please review listed vacancies. T-Ball/U6 Director- Job Description

  • Work with the Board of Officers and Directors in pre-season planning.
  • Attend at minimum 75% of meetings.
  • Represent coaches/managers in league.
  • Distribute training materials, rosters, and other pertinent information to players, coaches, and managers.
  • Coordinate games, schedules and their respective tournaments as assigned.

Jr/Sr Director- Job Description

  • Work with the Board of Officers and Directors in pre-season planning.
  • Attend at minimum 75% of meetings.
  • Represent coaches/managers in league.
  • Distribute training materials, rosters, and other pertinent information to players, coaches, and managers.
  • Coordinate games, schedules and their respective tournaments as assigned.

Umpire-in-Chief (UIC) – Qualifications/Job Description

The Umpire-in-Chief is the only Director position with minimum qualifications. To be eligible to serve as an Umpire-in-Chief, the member must demonstrate the following qualifications:

  1. Successfully pass formal training at Little League International in Williamsport, and/or
  2. At least 5 years’ experience as an umpire, including attendance at all umpire clinics, and experience umpiring at Provincial or Canadian/National tournament.

The Umpire-in-Chief shall:

  • Handle all matters with respect to the coordination, recruitment, training, development, conduct, and discipline over the League’s Senior Umpires and Junior Umpires.
  • Act as the League’s technical advisor and mediator with local districts and clubs.
  • Take the lead regarding all matters with respect to the management over the League’s Senior Umpires and Junior Umpires.
  • Provide umpire coverage for games if/when an umpire duty is unable to be filled.

Umpire Coordinator– Job Description

  • Arrange for umpires to attend the umpire clinics.
  • Coordinate umpire assignments and scheduling of games.
  • Not be paid if/when acting as an umpire (to avoid conflict of interest).
  • Maintain tracking of umpire games, rain outs, no shows and provide to the board when required.
  • Coordinate and schedule umpires for tournaments as per the Board’s discretion. Maintain record of umpires, games, rainouts, no shows and be able to provide to the Board when required.
  • Provide umpire schedule to the Board weekly during house league season and All Star/Summer Ball season. Provide any changes made to the schedule to the Board.
  • Will act as a liaison between the umpires and the Board.
  • Umpire Coordinator will coordinate payment for umpires in conjunction with the Treasurer.

Safety Officer- Job Description

  • Conduct an annual update and issuance of Safety Plan.
  • Ensure the Safety Manual has been reviewed by the district and contains all required signatures.
  • Ensure that all diamonds and fields have been inspected before and during playing season.
  • Act immediately to document and resolve any safety violation once it has been brought to their attention.
  • Make sure that all first aid kits are fully stocked and kept in the designated areas.
  • Keep a log of all injury and incident reports.
  • Supply the Board of Officers and Directors, at the Annual General Meeting, with a recap of all safety-related incidents, including violence & harassment, along with any actions taken.
  • Follow-up on injury reports, if necessary, by getting all pertinent information needed from Directors, players and parents, so insurance claims may be filled out correctly.
  • Work with the Board of Officers and Directors to ensure that all safety concerns are resolved in timely fashion.
  • Provide a copy of the current Safety Manual to the appropriate individuals including coaches and Directors.
  • Keep the District Safety Officer informed whenever an incident occurs.
  • Attend annual District 2 Safety meeting.

Fundraising Coordinator – Job Description

  • Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator to assure coverage of volunteers for any fundraisers that require support.
  • Manage events by coordinating with key people and third party organizations to participate in the event. Contact these people through means necessary.
  • Coordinate fundraising committees as needed for events, activities, etc.
  • Maintain tracking record of all fundraisers and provide the records to the Treasurer.
  • Work in conjunction with the Treasurer to obtain funds necessary to hold events.
  • Work in conjunction with the Web Coordinator at the discretion of the Board to assure social media, website announcements, printing, logo placement, acknowledgements are completed.
  • Be able to provide records and updates to the Board when requested.

Little League Edmonton Boundaries: Where Do You Play?

Little League (District Number 2) Edmonton is the governing body for the 3 leagues in the Edmonton area. The leagues are determined by boundaries listed below. 

Confederation Park (Southwest and West Edmonton)

Everything South of the River & West of Gateway Blvd. 
Includes everything West of Groat Road up to the Yellowhead. 
Includes: Spruce Grove, Devon, and Stony Plain.


Community Park (Northside Edmonton)
Everything North of the Yellowhead Trail.
Includes everything North of the River & East of Groat Road, including Fort Saskatchewan. 


East Park (Southeast Edmonton and Millwoods)
Everything South of the River & East of Gateway Blvd.
Includes: Millwoods, Beaumont, Leduc, and Sherwood Park.
